The City of Casey is seeking feedback on its Draft Diversity, Access and Inclusion Policy, which honours Council’s commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive community.

The policy aims to ensure Council undertakes decision making and provides services and infrastructure which are accessible and inclusive of all residents.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Mick Morland invited all residents to have their say by attending a workshop or completing the online survey.

"Casey is a diverse community, and this draft policy aims to address the fundamental rights of all people to be treated with respect, equity and dignity in our municipality.

"It helps ensure that Council continues to remove the social barriers of diversity in race, ethnicity, physical ability, socio-economic status, age, religious, faith and political beliefs and sexual orientation, as well as providing all residents equal opportunities to participate in our services and in the community.

"We are inviting the community to share their views on this important draft policy to ensure everyone’s voice is heard.

"We need your feedback to help us continue to ensure that Council provides accessible services and advocates for the outcomes which are in the best interests of the community," Cr Morland concluded.

Residents are invited to take part in one of two community workshops on the policy.
