The roar of thousands of motorcycles, free children’s activities, a celebrity wave-off, cultural performances and food and novelty stalls – there will be fun for the whole family at the 2015 Cranbourne GP Run!
The City of Casey is gearing up to host one of the biggest and most exciting annual events in Casey on Saturday 17 October 2015 in High Street, Cranbourne.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Mick Morland said the Cranbourne GP Run was not to be missed and encouraged people young and old to join in the fun and excitement.
"Each year thousands of motorcyclists gather in Cranbourne to travel en-masse to Phillip Island for the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and a huge crowd lines the streets to wave them off.
"This event is not just for motorcycle enthusiasts. It provides a great day out with family and friends, with something for people of all ages to enjoy.
"There will be plenty to do and see throughout the morning, with the streets of Cranbourne to come alive from 8.15 am with roving entertainers on stilts, food and novelty stalls lining the streets and local vendors also getting in on the action.
"This year there will be face painters, a scratch art children’s workshop and Daytona car arcade game machines in Childers and Bakewell Streets.
"Casey Youth Services and Spectrum Entertainment have also organised a multicultural celebration in Lyall Street, with local cultural singers and dancers set to perform and activities, including the Casey 360 bus, for visitors to enjoy.
"The pace will pick up at 10.00 am when celebrity guest Eddie Perfect officially waves off the motorcyclists from a cherry picker, igniting an exciting roar of motors and stream of chrome and colour.
"The Cranbourne GP Run is a unique, thrilling and popular event and I encourage the whole community to make sure they share in the excitement and head along to Cranbourne on Saturday 17 October 2015," Cr Morland concluded.
Festivities will begin at 8.15 am on the day, with motorcycles to be waved off by celebrity guest Eddie Perfect at 10.00 am. The fun continues until 11.00 am.
