The City of Casey has put the call out to artists of all ages, experiences and who work in varying mediums to apply to exhibit their works in Casey’s Art Spaces next year.
Council now has four art exhibition spaces across the municipality and is looking for a variety of talented local artists to showcase their work for free in one of the spaces during 2016.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Mick Morland encouraged any artists from Melbourne’s south east to apply before applications close on Friday 16 October 2015.
“The popular Civic Centre Art Space has presented exhibitions featuring artists from across the region since 1997 and that will be no different next year.
“Council also recently unveiled three new modern gallery spaces at Cranbourne, Doveton and Endeavour Hills libraries, which support a wide variety of art, including digital and 3D works.
“With four exhibition spaces now opened across the municipality, there is ample opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents to the community, providing more chances for local residents to enjoy wonderful art close to home.
“The Casey Art Spaces are one way Council actively celebrates, supports and promotes participation in the arts locally.
“Council encourages artists working in a range of mediums to apply to be part of Council’s 2016 exhibition program, whether you specialise in painting, printmaking, photography and drawing or even sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, textiles and digital art including film.
“This is a great opportunity for artists to gain exposure and share their love of art with the community, as well potentially sell some of your pieces to interested buyers,’ said Cr Morland.
Applications, which are open to both individuals and groups, close on Friday 16 October 2015.
